OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH

A wide range of opportunities for spiritual growth are available. New programs are also in development at all times. If there is a topic you would like to study, please contact our Director of Christian Education.

Confirmation
Confirmation classes are generally held every two years. Classes for students in Grades 9 and up who are considering confirmation will be held in the spring of 2002.

DISCIPLE Bible Study
The DISCIPLE Bible Study program is available for those who would like to participate. We have completed 2 groups of the DISCIPLE 1 program and 1 group of the DISCIPLE 2 program.

DISCIPLE is a 34 week intensive Bible Study which requires participants to do at least 30 minutes of study each day at home and attend a 2 ½ hour class each week. Each DISCIPLE group is made up of 12 participants and a leader. If you are interested in learning more about the DISCIPLE program, please contact the church office.

Christmas Program
Each year the Church School presents a Christmas Eve program during the early worship service on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals for this production will begin in October. All children and youth are invited to attend.

Church Camp
Our Christian Education program encourages children, youth and adults to participate in the camping ministry of the New England Conference. We collect donations for scholarship assistance to help people attend camp and we provide information relating to the various program offerings. More information can be found on our Church Camp page.

Mission Trips

There are two mission trips which our church is annually involved in.

M.A.P.A. - Youth (age 16 and up) are invited to participate in the M.A.P.A. (Mision A Paraiso Ahora) group.  M.A.P.A. travels to the Dominican Republic in February of each year to do work with Iglesia Evangelica Dominicana in Paraiso.  Work generally involves building projects and teaching opportunities.  For more information contact JoAnn Carlotto .

Kingfield, Maine Housing Ministry – each summer a group travels to Kingfield to do housing rehab work.  Individuals and families (including children) are invited to join the group.  It is anticipated that we will work on a Vacation Bible School program during the 2001 trip to Kingfield.
