OTHER CHURCH SCHOOL INFORMATION

Church School Offering
An offering is taken each week during the worship time in each classroom. Children are given offering envelopes at the beginning of the Church School year and are encouraged to participate in the stewardship efforts of the Church School. Children are instructed about what stewardship means to Christians and how it is an important part of our spiritual journey.

The Church School offering is devoted to a particular mission project each month. This helps students to learn that stewardship involves helping not only our own church but the world around us too. The projects for 2001-2002 are:
September OLIVER SCHOOL in Lawrence
October UNICEF
November Neighbors In Need Thanksgiving Baskets
December Christmas Kids - D.S.S.
January M.A.P.A. (Dominican Republic Mission)
February Bread & Roses Soup Kitchen
March Heifer Project
April Heifer Project
May Maine Housing Ministry
June Lazarus House

Bibles
The New Revised Standard Version of the Bible is used in our Church School. A Bible is given to each child entering Grade 2, and we encourage children to bring their Bible each week. We are also happy to provide a Bible for older children, youth and adults who do not own one.

Bibles in the classrooms are an important part of the learning experience. All children, youth and adults are encouraged to bring a Bible to class with them. Younger children are invited to bring a family Bible or Children's Bible to class.

Intergenerational Events
A variety of events for all ages are planned throughout the year. We encourage families (individuals, couples, parents and kids) to attend.
