Our faith community
gathers for worship on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
We joyfully encourage children to be a part of our worshipping community.
Children are encouraged to take an active part in the worship service by
serving as Bible Presenters and Acolytes. In
addition, the children in the Sunday School sing an anthem during at least one
worship service each month and occasionally there are dramatic presentations.
During
both worship services, there is a short Children’s Sermon.
Rev. Herber leads this time with the children.
Topics are generally based on the morning’s lectionary readings
although they may also vary based on special Sundays or seasonal topics.
Children’s
Bulletins containing word searches, puzzles, pictures to color and other
activities are available on the table in the Narthex. Ziplock bags of crayons are also available on the table.
We ask that these crayons be returned to the basket after the service so
they are available in subsequent weeks. For
those who prefer not to have their children in worship, childcare options are
available downstairs in Rooms 200 for worshippers during the 10:30 a.m. service
only. Nursery care is provided for children from birth through Age 6.
Many children attend worship up through the time of the “Children’s
Sermon” and then go to the nursery for the remainder of the service.
A light snack is provided for children in the nursery.
Youth volunteers and one paid staff person staff the Nursery.
All parents are asked to register their child when they use the Nursery. Communion
is served on the first Sunday of each month and all children, youth and adults
are invited to participate. |
