The Daily Grasshopper

This site is devoted to offering a critical look at the quality of our daily news, primarily the print media, here in the "liberal" Northeast. If you would like to receive an e-mail version of "The Daily Grasshopper," please e-mail Patrick Keaney and put "SUBSCRIBE" in the subject line of the e-mail.

This project started out as a daily essay that I would write to friends and family after the beginning of the year. It is geared toward people whose busy lives often prevent them from taking enough time to read and digest the daily news. The idea is to get people thinking about who shapes opinions in this country, and what motives inspire their work. My New Year's Resolution was to write more, and there's certainly no shortage of things to be writing about these days. I hope you don't mind the informal tone of the messages - many are written from the heart, and in the heat of the moment. I'll try to maintain my pace of one a day, and hope people find it useful. Feedback is always welcome.
